Daphne reveals that her disease kept her from walking until the last eclipse, when she gained her powers which restored her ability to walk. After explaining to Matt she orders him to leave which he does as her father returns. At the comic book store, Hiro buys all of the 9th Wonders! and begins going through them to learn what he has done in the past in an attempt to regain his memory. He learns about much of his adventures, but runs to hide in the bathroom not wanting to grow up and remember after reading the comic where he stabs Sylar with a sword on Kirby Plaza in an attempt to kill him ("How to Stop an Exploding Man").

Claire is rushed to the hospital where its revealed that she has an infection in her whole body which is surprising to the nurses and doctors because she should only be that way if she had never been sick or if she had her gunshot wound for longer. Despite the doctors' best efforts she goes into septic shock and dies. Noah Bennet goes after Elle and Sylar for revenge and manages to shoot Elle in the leg as they escape. He is so focused on revenge he doesn't go to the hospital when Sandra (Claire's mother), calls him. Sylar helps Elle escape down a service elevator in a store but is confronted and killed by Bennet who slits his throat while a helpless Elle (who returned, but the elevator got stuck) watches. Mohinder manages to knock out Flint, who's guarding him, and escapes to see Maya.

In Haiti, Peter and the Haitian rescue Nathan and two kidnapped girls, but Peter stays behind to cover their escape and is caught and nearly killed before the Haitan and Nathan return to help. The eclipse ends and everyone's powers return. Nathan flies Baron Samedi into a car, but he survives as the Haitan, wanting to finish the job himself, didn't block his power. The Haitan then apparently wipes his brother's mind completely. Nathan decides to help Pinehearst, saying that while Arthur's plan may not be perfect, the idea of giving more people powers appeals to him as he discovered how powerless normal people are, especially against someone like Baron Samedi. He flies off leaving Peter and the Haitian behind. At the hospital, Claire's powers return. She regenerates from her wounds and death and escapes with her mother. Mohinder goes to Maya's apartment and knocks on her door, but like everyone else, his powers have returned along with his scaly skin. Before she has a chance to open the door and see him, he runs away and returns to Pinehearst.

Sam (Seth Green), using Ando as a translator, gives an inspiring speech to Hiro that restores his confidence and will to continue. Frack (Breckin Meyer), in the meantime, finds a clue to what Hiro needs to do next and where to go: in issue #1 of 9th Wonders, which depicts Kaito Nakamura giving baby Claire to Noah Bennet with young Hiro nearby he finds an image of present day Hiro wearing the same clothes that he has on and Claire standing in the greenhouse hiding behind a fern. He believes that Hiro needs to take Claire and travel back in time to that moment and he may be able to recover his memories there. Taking that issue and using an image from issue #31 (the issue depicting the episode's events that Sam and Frack were looking at at the end of part 1) he teleports away to get Claire. Matt returns to Daphne's farm after learning that their powers returned, but finds out that she already ran away. He manages to find her in the cornfield by following her thoughts. He convinces her to go make up with her dad whom she'd abandoned when she first got her powers. The two then go to the comic book store, wondering what to do next, but they've reached the end of the latest issue, and since the comic's author is dead, can expect no more. However, Sam remembers a story he heard that there is still one untold 9th Wonders story left: it's in the sketchbook Isaac Mendez gave to the bike courier the day he died and if Matt, Daphne and Ando find that courier, they'll find that last story.

At the Bennet home Mr. Bennet returns to an angry Claire who is disappointed he wasn't there for her in the hospital. When he finds out she was able to return to life, he panics as he realizes that Sylar will have regenerated too. Sure enough, Sylar and Elle are waiting downstairs, holding Sandra hostage. As Sylar holds him up against a wall with telekinesis, Mr. Bennet reveals that Angela and Arthur lied about being his parents, that they were simply using him, and says Elle knows the truth too. Sylar starts to cut Bennet's throat with his powers, but is stopped by Hiro, who teleports in and teleports him away before doing the same to Elle.

On the beach Hiro teleported them to, Sylar decides that trying to change is futile, and resolves to return to his familiar murderous ways. He starts by opening up Elle's skull.

After returning once more, Hiro teleports away into the past with Claire. Sixteen years in the past Hiro and a shocked Claire witness Kaito handing over baby Claire to Mr. Bennet (a scene first shown as one of Noah Bennet's flashbacks in "Company Man"), while Hiro shows Claire the comic depicting this.
